Janet Tarkoff joined JMP Securities in July 2003 and is a Managing Director and General Counsel. Janet was previously Associate General Counsel of Thomas Weisel Partners, where she was responsible for legal matters regarding its asset management and fund activities. Janet has also been a corporate attorney with Winston & Strawn, has served as legal counsel at Montgomery Securities -- now Banc of America Securities -- and has practiced law as a litigator.

Janet holds a JD from University of California, Hastings College of the Law and a BA from Pepperdine University.
