Richard Gumer joined JMP Securities in March 2006 as a Managing Director.

Prior to joining JMP, Rich was the senior healthcare analyst at Avenue Capital, a global hedge fund with $20 billion of assets under management. Beforehand, he was global head of healthcare private equity for GE Capital. Rich previously headed the healthcare investment banking units of ABN AMRO and ING Barings, where he executed more than $10 billion of mergers, acquisitions and equity and debt transactions.

Rich holds an MBA degree from the University of California, Berkeley and an undergraduate degree in biochemistry from Brown University.
